Governance
The ELC is a private not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors are comprised of public and private sector community representatives from each of the seven counties of the Big Bend Region, including, Leon, Jefferson, Madison, Gadsden, Wakulla, Liberty and Taylor County. The ELC Board of Directors are responsible for the oversight and effective implementation of the School Readiness and VPK Programs under Section 411.01, Florida Statutes, School Readiness Act, and Chapter 1002, Florida Statutes, VPK Act. All board members are volunteers and are not compensated for their service on the Coalition Board.
