Note: This is not a class that can be registered for on-line. See instructions below for printing a paper copy of the registration application. Payment for class can be in the form of a check, money order or exact cash. Registration is confirmed via phone or email when both the application and payment are received. Registration is first come, first served.
Join us for our First Aid/CPR/AED classes with an emphasis on hands-on learning. Open to Providers who have a current School Readiness or VPK Contract with the ELC, the classes will give you the skills to save a life. These courses align with OSHA’s Best Practices for the Workplace First Aid Training Programs. The certifications issued upon successful completition of the classes are: FA/CPR/AED for Infant/Pediatric/Adult.
First Aid: Learn how to respond to common first aid emergencies, including burns, cuts; head, neck and back injuries and more.
CPR/AED: Learn how to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies in adults, including the use of automated external defibrillators (AED).
Classes are limited to an enrollment of 10 and are available for ELC and VPK contracted providers only. To register, go to www.elcbigbend.org and complete the First Aid/CPR Training Application Form. The VPK Standards for Four-Year-Olds are based on collaborations with a state Panel of Experts, national and state expert reviewers, and public input from citizens across the state of Florida. It reflects the latest research on child development and developmentally appropriate practices for four-year-old children and is appropriate for all instructors and directors of programs serving four-year-olds. All standards and benchmarks are organized in five domains:

Language, Communication, and Emergent Literacy
Cognitive Development and General Knowledge

The Department of Education is pleased to announce that the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for Four-Year-Olds (2011) manual is now available for purchase. The price, $10.50, includes shipping. Purchases can be made using credit cards, checks, money orders, and purchase orders.
