Quality Improvement System
Quality Improvement System
Quality Improvement is a systematic approach of assessing, improving and communicating the level of quality in child care programs. As outlined in the School Readiness Provider Network Agreement, providers electing for the Premium Services will receive additional services. These services are outlined below.
- Comprehensive program pre-assessment: This includes an Environmental Rating Scale assessment combined with our new School Readiness monitoring tool. These assessments identify program strengths and areas needing improvement.
- Program Improvement Plan (PIP) is designed for each program to address areas needing improvement with the idea that implementation of the proposed PIP actions will improve the provider’s score on the final assessments. A Quality Improvement Specialist will be available for technical support in implementing the PIP.
- Post Assessment:The assessment results will be communicated to parents in the form of a star rating system.
- Star Rating: Once the post assessment is completed, the ELC assigns a star rating that signifies the program's level of quality. Ratings are shared with parents when choosing a program for their child.
