Ninety percent of brain development occurs before the age of five. With such tremendous growth occurring in such a short period of time, it is critical that children be surrounded by nurturing supporting environments that positively impact children's growth and help them reach their full potential. Parents, families, child care providers, and communities all play a role in supporting children's development, with the greatest burden lying with those that directly care for young children each day.
